Pilates - working out the kinks

It’s been a several years since I last took a pilates class.  The only one my gym currently offers is 1x week on Wed morning, with an instructor who would make a drill sergeant happy…no sugar coating here!   Which for me is great as I have no problem confiding that my form is terrible, my abs weak and hips in need of development…so here we go.

This was the second week and I noticed my hips really having a hard time lifting my bulky legs and I felt the burn which is great.   It’s going to feel great to have them back to normal which i’m hoping will be the result from flexibility and strengthening.   Just wish it was more than 1x / week, may need to look elsewhere for more classes.   In the mean time I’m doing 2 classes of yoga to keep up the flexibility work…

Does anyone know if there’s a way to track your workouts for Pilates vs general hatha yoga under flexibility?  Seems like perhaps a bit more calories burning with intense pilates?

Pilates class

Really starting to feel it in my hip area where I had an injury from running…the pilates is great for working all that out and of course core strengthening…is there a “pilates” setting for tracking workout?  Seems like more effort than yoga to me
